Coney Island, the great getaway for New Yorkers since the Civil War, is the subject of a new exhibit at the Object Image Gallery. Ten painters and photographers capture the beaches, the boardwalk, the excitement of the amusement parks and the familiar profile of Coney Island from the sea. Gallery director Bob Weiss points out, “that capturing in paint and film how Coney Island looks today is vitally important in light of the proposed changes to this classic New York site.” The show includes work by , Laura Fantini, Jo Pendola, Cynthia Chatman, Jackie Weisberg, Fred Becker, Philomena Marano, Jeff Faerber, Warren Beishir, Thomas Hagan and Richard Casciato.
